This Privacy Policy is issued in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) of the Republic of South Africa, and any other applicable data protection laws. POPIA governs how we, as a “Responsible Party,” collect, process, store, and share personal information belonging to “Data Subjects.”
By using our website or services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your personal information in accordance with its terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

- Send newsletters, promotional materials, and information about future events (where permitted and with your consent);
- Improve our website, services, and event experience;
- Respond to inquiries and provide customer support;

- Right of Access (Section 23 of POPIA): Request confirmation of whether we hold your personal information and request a copy of that information.
- Right to Correction or Deletion (Section 24 of POPIA): Request that we correct, update, or delete inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, outdated, incomplete, misleading, or unlawfully obtained personal information.
- Right to Object (Section 11(3) of POPIA): Object, on reasonable grounds, to the processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing purposes.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: Submit a complaint to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights have been infringed (see Section 12 below).
- Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used format.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are intended for adult audiences. We do not advertise, market, or promote our services to children, and our content is not designed to appeal to or target minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Reinvention Fest assumes no responsibility or liability for any child who accesses our website. It is the responsibility of parents, legal guardians, or supervising adults to monitor and control their children’s use of the internet, including access to our website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

In compliance with Section 72 of POPIA, we will only transfer your personal information outside the Republic of South Africa where:
- The recipient is subject to a law, binding corporate rules, or a binding agreement that provides an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA;
- You have consented to the transfer;
- The transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract between you and us, or in your interest; or
- The transfer is for your benefit and it is not reasonably practicable to obtain consent, but you would likely give it.
By using our services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed outside South Africa, and you consent to such transfers where required.
